Its indisputably one of the best sitcoms on Netflix, and in general as well. Its incredibly funny, and the humour is pleasantly refreshing, especially for a show that first came out in 1998. Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, and a long list of other future stars play key roles in the film (along with cameos from George Clinton and other musicians), which was based on a student film Hudlin created while attending Harvard University. Its one of the best, eccentric casts you will see on television, and all of them are equally lovable in the show. The film follows Kid (Reid) as he attempts to sneak out of the office and evade his father, school bullies, racist police officers, and all manner of other threats in order to attend the party of the year at his best friend Play’s house. The spirit of the ’90s is alive and well in this musical, R-rated comedy starring Christopher “Kid” Reid and Christopher “Play” Martin - better known as iconic hip hop duo Kid ‘n Play - which was written and directed by Reginald Hudlin and featured a long list of Black actors and musicians both well-established and early in their careers.
